The brief:
I've always been interested in the design of playing cards, which seem to have taken on an iconic status. Looking at one recently, it occurred to me that those flat colours, divided by black lines, would make an excellent stained glass window.

So what do you think? Can you turn this card into a window design? I'm looking for a quality of light here, of course.

Choose your own location for the window. If you've feeling ambitions, you might like to consider what kind of light such a window might cast inside the room...

April 2008 - Build me a fire

The original:

The brief:
A fine marble fireplace. But what's this? An electric fire? That will never do. I'd like a real log effect in here, please. Unless you can think of an alternative way of heating this room?

April 2008 - The rooftops of Egypt

The original:

The brief:
We did a contest a couple of years ago using Paris rooftops. The roofs in Egypt are very different, but equally intriguing: I can easily imagine Aladdin, or even Ali Baba, making his furtive way across these. Of course, it would have to be at night to get the atmosphere right.

Anyone here inspired by some Middle Eastern views?

April 2008 - Gatecrashing in Sydney

The original:

The brief:
Great to see tooquilos and vibeke meeting up in person this week - rather like when actors break the fourth wall and come down off the stage. And thanks for posting the photographs, too.

It seems to me, though, that there's room for a couple more of us around that table. Can we squeeze a few more Forum members in? Perhaps those of you with wacky avatars could be persuaded to make them more representational for this week...

April 2008 - Shipwreck!

The original:

The brief:
I was on a short break in Egypt last week, and while on a snorkelling trip I spotted this rather splendid shipwreck. The boat went right past it, so I was able to get some detailed shots.

Of course, this wreck would look a lot better at the bottom of the ocean than sticking out of the coral reef like this. Can you oblige?

I've supplied a larger than usual starting image this week, so you can choose either to include a section of the ship at full size, or the whole thing if you shrink it down.
